Another Good Day

Today is Zack's birthday. Happy birthday my big host brother Zachary!! :)

trus beliau ngasih note buat dia lewat gue.

Eh pas dia jemput gue, dia berpikiran buat say Hi ke Ms. Merrell,
jadi kita malah ngobrol bareng  di kelas. Wah asik banget.
Satu jam cuma buat ngobrol tau nggak :D hhehe
asik banget,
tapi nggak tau deh,
gue nggak peduli sama diploma,
That is it!

But over all, today is another good day for me :)

Just a big SMILE :)

Oh well, bagus deh kalau gitu :)

Trus second period, English Class.
Awalnya gue duduk sendirian, trus nggak lama Nick dateng trus duduk di samping gue.
Trus Mrs.Drake ngasih arahan gitu tentang tugas essay, trus beliau nyeritain tentang cerita di buku literature gitu, Alhamdulillah bahasanya nggak kayak novel Shakespeare, jadi easy to understand lah :)
Nah pas di 5 menit terakhir, gue denger Riley, Nick, sama Austin ngobrol tentang negara gitu,
SECARA gue denger, wong gue di tengah-tengah mereka bertiga -_- mana mereka kalo ngobrol hebohnya kayak gitu, sampai di ujung pembicaraan Nick bilang, "Hey, Putri is pretty awesome too, she's from Indonesia, so she's the furthest", trus entah kenapa mereka jadi ngomongin agama gitu, tapi ini omongan yang asik, nah kebetulan Riley nih muslim sama kayak gue, ternyata Austin sama Nick nggak tau kalau Riley selama ini adalah seorang muslim. Hahaha sumpah itu bagian terlucu, jadi gue ikutan nimbrung di pembicaraan mereka, trus yang paling gue inget tuh percakapan mereka begini,
R : Eh, aku Islam loh.
A & N : Serius lo, Riley?
R : serius!
A & N : ah masa sih?
Gue : Dia Islam kok, haha, waktu itu dia ngomong sama gue.
R : kalian nggak percaya cuma karena aku kulit putih -_-
trus berakhir dengan tawa, macam-macam anak2 ni. Haha :)

Trus third period, Photography Class.

And the last, 4th period which is Algebra.
tapi gue milih ngerjain sendiri sih,
tapi OTAK-nya luar biasa!
wah, musik favorit gue :D
jadi gue nanya doi,
eh doi bilang bener, trus dijelasin gitu.

banyak banget.
Iya, belajar dari orang-orang di sekeliling gue.
Baik kenal atau nggak.
Gue belajar dari mereka :)

That Day

Ah tapi gak apa, tetep have fun dong :)

Me, Jeanny, and Krista

I know it's blurry -_- but I still can see it clearly btw
It's the candle on my table, isn't it pretty? :)

This is what I like to do before go to school :)

Three Months To Go

Really? It really is almost April.
I need somebody to slap my face.
Is it a dream?
I'm living in my dream, but I don't expect to wake up.
This dream goes so fast.
Why?
Oh God, let me stay here a little while.

What does lucky means?

Right after I read "The Rocking Horse Winner" in English Class yesterday, I just wondered, "What does lucky means?". I know, the story tell me about money and greedyness. But my point of view, lucky is something that you've dreamed and it becomes a dream come true. That is lucky.

I'm living in my dream as I know I am one of those lucky persons.

Why Did I Decide To Take This Chance

This poem came up with an idea by using a questionable title and the body of the poem are the answers from the title and the answers have to start with word "Because". And here is mine.

***

Why did I decide to take this chance

Because I am Putri whose dreams so high. Stand tall like I am tall enough to reach all of my dreams that I spread out on the sky.

Because chances that has come will not come back twice and a year as an exchange student only happen once.

Because when I was a child, I said to everyone that I didn’t want to be a doctor, but I wanted to be the President of United States of America.

Because I am Indonesian and I want to promote how freaking incredible and awesome my country is.

Because I want to challenge myself to live far away from people that I used to know.

Because I don’t know how to make my parents proud of me, so I decided to go.

Because I don’t have a lot of money to travel here, but I do have this holy brain that made me passed the test and now I am here.

Because being the only one who wear scarf at school is kinda cool.

Because when I think about future, this chance is one important thing that I have to take.

Because I know where I have to stay if someday I got another chance to come back here.

Because I can learn anywhere and anytime, no matter what time and what places. Learn is not always about something that relate to school, but learn to be tough when my life is getting harder and harder is a part of learning.

Because every time I see everyone here is one of a big chance that I won’t miss. Because, I know I can not see you all again next year. That’s why I actually try to record all of you on my mind. But it’s hard. Although some of you think that you don’t know me that well, but having you guys payed attention at me when I was presenting my presentation about my country, I felt happy and I totally appreciate it.

Because there are no burrito, Wallmart, Marshmallow, honey butter, Pretzel, and lots of things here that I can’t find in a place where I belong, so I take this chance.

Because my real family doesn’t like to watch movie and play games, so watch movies and play games every weekend with my host family here is such a good chance.

Because time gives me a lot of chance to learn music by myself.

Because taking lots of pictures are a big chance to capture all of the place where I’ve been passed.

Because on July, I’ll have a new chance to tell people who I used to know there about what I’ve seen and done here.

Things I've Learned Last Year

This poem came up from an idea about "Things we've learned last (year, month, centuries, hour, week, and so on). Then here is mine.

Things I've Learned Last Year

You can do the hardest thing even nobody teach you how to do it.

Miracle is the result from hardworking.

A circle can create anything.

Sometimes you need to tell something that you don’t want to tell.

Different place has different people.

It’s rare to find people in U.S. who ride motorcycle.

Pork taste good.

Trees can drop their leaves off and pretend to die for a long season.

My host father said that United States  always help other countries,
But when something happened in U.S, there’s no country who will help.
Because they think Americans are rich enough to help themselves.
And if U.S doesn’t help other countries, other countries will hate them.

What I saw, what I heard, what I did
Just change my perspective of differences.
I wonder what am I living for?
Now I know I’m here to break misunderstanding
And build a bridge of understanding and differences

Oh, anyway,
Just want to tell you that Egyptian doesn’t goes to school by Camel.
And mostly they can see pyramid from their house.

This poem I made for my best friend, Liberty Walters and all of my Creative Writing Class' classmates including my best teacher, Ms. Merrel. I was using a rhyme for this poem, and it was about real story, because that day Liberty gave me a christmas present :).

Fluffy

My tropic skin reacts to the climate
The blood inside of my body feels like climb up
The weather has to change and I asked, “Why?”
My body refuses it but I know I have to give a try
This morning I woke up and forced myself to wake up
Mom asked me, “Are you ready to go?” and I said, “Yup!”
I waited the bus in the darn cold morning
Until I saw a yellow innocent bus was coming
Come inside of it and sat alone
I was boring and playing monopoly on my phone
Till I arrived and put my feet on the school ground
Walked to the undescribeable white portable and enjoy the morning’s sound
My hands were crying like a baby,
It was so cold and they needed gloves, maybe.
I opened the portable’s door and saw my friend there.
I said, “Hi,” and I sat on my chair.
She brought something wrapped on her hands and gave it to me
I had no idea what happened but I was happy
I read the letters and I knew what’s going on.
I unwrapped the present and I saw gloves and scarf that I could put on.
I don’t have to be afraid with the morning cold.
Now I have these fluffy warm things that better than a gold.
Thanks to my best friend, Liberty, for giving me these Chrismas present.
I hope God always bless you and put you in a pleasant.
I hope you got what you want from Santa Claus.
Now cheer up guys and Merry Christmas.

No, I don't want to go back home

Oh well, now I am sick, I think it's because of the weather, ah whatever.

It's already March,
and the date so close to April,
then May is going to come,
then June,
and after that I'm home.

I do not want to go home.

The reasons are easy,
a lot of things are easier to find it here,
you can fix whatever you want,
stable,
and so on.

But, I can't deny that I still love Indonesia no matter what.
Because Indonesia still rich by its cultures after all.

There a weird feeling that I feel right now,
why?
Because, I have two families right now,
here in Layton, Utah, US.
and there in Samarinda, Kalimatan Timur, Indonesia.
So I feel weird to leave one of my family here,
and also I don't know when I'll come back here someday.

However, I think I have a new dream,
it is "TO GO BACK HERE AGAIN, SOMEDAY"

If I could continue my college here, I would totally do that!
or even married with someone here :) lol

well it's still a dream, no matter I reach it or not,
the important thing is I still have to try,
nothing impossible in this world as long as your motivation walk together as your dream running to the end of the world.
